Department of Economics

About the subject:

In an era of globalisation, Economics as a subject has gained great deal of importance. It helps the students to take up jobs in Banks , FI's business firms etc. Students can appear for competitive exams like IAS,IES etc Further studies like MBA, CA,CS etc can also be pursued.

About the Department:

The department was established in 1956 ever since its inception, the Department has been imparting quality education to its students. Comprehensive notes and keeping the students abreast with the latest developments in the field of Economics and the hallmarks of the Department.

Subject Organization:

The Department is actively involved in conducting seminars, on current topics. Some of the topics on which seminars were conducted in the past are Disinvestment and its impact on Indian Economy, World Trade Organization and Agriculture, Should Interest Rates be Lowered?, Economic Development of Vidarbha: Vision 2025 etc. Some of the eminent academicians, economists, businessmen, CAs were invited to speak on the topics.
