Mathematics is the apex of science, studying this branch helps in understanding other subjects in lot relevant manner. The degree course (Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)) in Mathematics offers build up for post-graduation in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, leading to research work in Mathematics, Mathematical physics, Applied and Pure Mathematics, etc.

Affiliated to R.T.M. Nagpur University, Nagpur. 3 years course grant-in-aid by Govt. of Maharashtra, India.
Course content:
Each year has 3 papers for study and each paper contains 5 units each.
B. Sc. I :
Paper I : Algebra & Trigonometry
Paper II : Differential calculus, Integral calculus, Ordinary differential equations.
Paper III: Vector analysis (gradient, curl & divergence, Gauss, Green's & Stokes' theorem.) & Geometry (lines, plane, sphere, cone, cylinder & conicoid)
B.Sc.II:
Paper I : Advanced calculus (mean value theorems, Euler's theorem, Taylor's theorem, Beta & Gamma functions, sequences & series.)
Paper II : Partial differential equations of first, second and higher order, calculus of variations, Laplace transform, series solutions.
Paper III: Mechanics (statics & dynamics).
B.SC. III:
Paper I : Analysis (Real analysis, complex analysis & metric spaces).
Paper II : Abstract algebra (Group automorphism, Ring theory, Vector spaces, Linear transformation & inner product spaces.)
Paper III (Optional): Relativity.
OR
Paper III (Optional): Discrete Mathematics.
Examination:
Examinations are conducted by R.T.M. Nagpur University,
Nagpur annually for First year B. Sc., Second year B.Sc.
and Final B. Sc. regularly.
Eligibility for the course:
A student with (10+2) or Higher secondary
Certification (H.Sc.) can be admitted to the course.

A state level conference on "General Relativity and prospects of singularity"
was organized during January 11th & 12th 2003,
sponsored by UGC, WRO, Pune.
Mathematical Society:
Office bearers of Mathematical society for the year 2005-06
Inaugurated in the year 2002. Every year several programs and
activities are conducted giving rise to conceptual understanding of the subject
through guest lectures, question answer sessions, quiz, chart making, seminar and
question of the week. Promoting the subject in its best adulation manner by
coordinator Mrs. Sujatha Janardhan.
