Marathi : Rajbhasha and Cultural heritage of the region
Marathi is the Mother-Tongue of the majority population of the region. It is also Rajbhasha of the Maharashtra state and the Nagpur city is the Second Capital of Maharashtra. The cultural heritage including arts, history and ancient life of Maharashtra can be studied through the Marathi Literature.
The study of Marathi Literature is begin with the opening of Nagpur University on academic level. It contributes spreading the life values of ancient culture and philosophy.
The subject Marathi is necessary to getting service in Administration of Maharashtra Government, In the point of view of modern world placement this language having scope in Print Media as well as Electronic media. There are thousands of periodicals running in marathi all over the country and many TV/Radio channels. Most of publishers, translation services and legal advice services needs the persons in Marathi language.

The B. A. course is of Three years duration. Examinations are conducted annually by Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University.
Admission Criteria : Prescribed application forms will available in the College office at the starting of New Session.
Subject organization society :
There is Marathi Abhyas Mandal, which conducts Seminars, workshops and session of Talks of experts in the field. UGC and other NGOs are helping to organize such
programs. 'Kavi Suresh bhat yaanchi kavita', 'Aadivasi Marathi Sahitya' and 'Marathi Loksahitya' are some titles performed by the Marathi Abhyas Mandal in last few years. The two days seminar entiteld 'Aadivasi Marathi Sahitya' was organized on state level with the financial
assistance of UGC.
