LIBRARY AT A GLANCE

Space Available for Library :

One big Hall with a Stack room, Issue counter, classical collection room and a Reading Room with sitting arrangement for 100 students and 10 staff members.

Library Timings :.

Reading room facility 8.30am to 5.00pm.
Issue counter - 8.30am to 5.00pm.
From 2007-08 session, Library will be open on holidays and sundays on students demand.

Yearly 500-550 books are added to the collection.

1. Library automation is in progress
2. The automation software (LIBER ADMIN 3) has been installed in the Library
3. Transactions with office, vendors and suppliers are automated .
4. Charging discharging, OPAC, is available for teaching and non-teaching staff.

1. Reading Room Facility:

Our library at following counters extends this facility,
News Paper Reading
Periodicals and Journals Reading
Textbook Reading

2. Lending of Documents:

As any other library primary function of our library is to maximize use of collection available
-Open Access to PG students (MSc Chemistry & Biotechnology) and for teaching and non-teaching staff.
-Each student can issue two books at a time for a week.
-Loose issues of journals are issued on demand, overnight.
Teaching and non-teaching staff can issue ten books for one academic session.
-At the end of the session , library clearance is compulsory for all categories.
-Weaker sections are provided with an additional book.
-On average 95-100 books are issued daily

3. Current Awareness Service:

Latest additions to the library are displayed on the notice board..

4. Newspaper Clipping Service:

The records of the Newspaper clippings describing events in the college as well as news related to the college are maintained.

5.Reprography Service:

This facility is provided on demand to students and staff.

6. Reference Service:

Students consult reference books for queries. Library is maintaining a daily record of this service. On an average 30-35 books are referred daily.

7. Students Aid Service:

Library helps students for preparation of competitive examinations. Books for Competitive exams are purchased specially for students. Students participating in intercollege Quiz, Essay, Debate Elocution etc are provided with sufficient works
Question papers of university exams, university syllabus are also available for reference.

8. Display of Information:

Library displays many notices , other useful information for students.
Library also organises book exhibition .

Special Service - Book Deposit Scheme.

Books are issued to students for university examinations during summer vacations, on full deposit basis.

Library Highlights :.

" Orientation lecture is delivered to the XI, B.Sc.-I, B.A.-I and M.Sc.-I students at the beginning of the session.
" Book Exhibition is organised on the occasion of Library Day every year.
" Reference services/ deposit scheme service are provided to alumni.
" Full deposit facility can be availed by college students during examination.
" Two days Workshop on 'Greenstone Digital Library Software' was organized in collaboration with Department of Library And Information Science, R T M Nagpur University and SALIS Chennai
" Spacious and modernized library with reading facility for 250 students with Internet , reprography facility is under construction.
" Institutional Repository Project is in progress by using GSDL
